Must be detail oriented with superior Word, Excel and communication skills. Requires a self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.

Will be responsible for the efficient, accurate, and timely production and coordination of attorney time input, client invoices and accounts receivable calls for the firm, conflicts checks, and monthly reconciliation of the billing cycle.

Basic requirements include:

* High school diploma
* At least five years of experience in general office duties, preferably in a law firm environment
* At least three years of legal billing experience is required.
* Knowledge of legal billing software. Omega software strongly preferred.
* Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook required and a typing speed of 60 wpm with 80% accuracy

Candidates must be detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, have excellent computer and organizational skills, type a minimum of 50 words per minute, and have at least 1 year of litigation law firm experience. Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.

 

Responsible for filing and indexing documents within folders for secretaries, paralegals, and attorneys.  Organize documents for client files.  Create computer indexes; file with appropriate document tabbing and fasten files.  Create volumes as needed.  Pick-up and deliver filing projects to respective parties Backup for records clerks.  Assist in locating missing files. Pull files and re-file in compact shelving.

Job Description:

 

Our client is one of the major players for personal injury cases in the Bay Area.  The new team member will be responsible for securing clients that are referred into the firm through intense marketing campaigns.  Research and writing, discovery requests, depositions, client counseling, trial preparation, court appearances.  Positions starts out as partially support, partially own caseload, growing over time depending on ability and performance.  

 
Requirements:

  • Certified to practice law in California

  • Previous personal injury law experience required (at least 3 years)

  • First chair trial experience preferred; second chair required

  • Strong writing and oral argument skills required, candidate must be able to organize thoughts and argument, and articulate well

  • Mature approach, articulate, detail-oriented and motivated (No 9 -5 mind-set!)

  • Driven, motivated, and hungry for business

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Desire to work with a wide variety of personalities and backgrounds

  • Requires outstanding academic credentials

  • Desire to litigate cases, including law and motion, discovery, mediation, arbitration, and trial
